VIA DELLA CONCILIAZIONE

Wide and majestic, it ideally connects Rome with the Vatican State, offering a triumphal access to the marvelous St. Peter’s Basilica. It was designed in 1936 by architects Marcello Piacentini and Attilio Spaccarelli, following the Lateran Pacts of February, 11th 1929. Its name was meant to celebrate the achieved Conciliation between the Italian State and the Holy See.
