VIA DEI FORI IMPERIALI

Probably one of the best known Roman streets, Via dei Fori Imperiali runs from Piazza Venezia to the Colosseum in a straight line crossing more than two thousand years of history: along its path, visitors can admire the Forum of Caesar, the Forum of Augustus, the Forum Transitorium (built by the will of Domitian and inaugurated by Nerva) and the Forum of Trajan. The so-called Imperial Fora were brought back to light during the archaeological excavation campaigns carried out between 1924 and 1932.
