Built in 312 BC, the Old Appian Way bears witness to a long and glorious history. Referred to as “Regina Viarum” (the Queen of Roads), this is one the most impressive civil engineering projects of all time. The road leads through a large archaeological park dotted with Roman aqueducts, arches and ancient ruins.
