Just a minute’s walk from the bustling Piazza Venezia, Via di Santo Stefano del Cacco is famous for a large marble foot perched on the side of the street. Clad in a Greek-style sandal, the giant sculpture is thought to have belonged to a colossal statue of the Egyptian goddess Isis whose cult had spread all over the Greco-Roman world after Alexander’s conquest of Egypt.
