The ancient harbour of Rome, a natural oasis rich in history
Navigare il Territorio, the cycle of educational workshops and guided tours of the Imperial Ports of Claudius and Trajan, is back with a new programme of archaeology-related events. The project, launched by Aeroporti di Roma and Fondazione Benetton Studi e Ricerche in cooperation with the municipality of Fiumicino and the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica, provides visitors with a busy schedule of free guided tours to explore the natural and historical environment of Rome’s ancient harbour city (available Thursday-Sunday).
Every week-end children and adults alike will get involved in a number of hands-on activities illustrating the work of the archaeologist, the secrets of local seafaring traditions and ancient culinary art. Passengers interested into getting to the Imperial Ports from the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport can take advantage of the free shuttle service available in front of Terminal 3 (departures area).
