Rome is an open-air museum where contemporary art is perpetually in close contact with the local residents. If you have already seen the main attractions of the Eternal City that made it famous all over the world, or if you are interested in admiring Rome from a different perspective, you should take a full-day walking tour through its multicultural districts.

Street Art Tour” is a theme-based itinerary covering more than 150 streets and 30 neighbourhoods, from the city centre to its many outlying suburbs. Just like London, Paris, Berlin and New York City, the Italian capital has effectively institutionalized street art into an official museum with the purpose of showing the city from another point of view, not archaeological but interested in the urban and contemporary art.

Get ready to be blown away by an open-air, free-to-access itinerary of socially relevant murals painted by local and international artists such as Clemens Behr, Herbert Baglione, MOMO, Hitnes, Sten Lex, Agostino Iacurci and Jerico, just to name a few. Last spring, the Municipality of Rome has released an official street art map that lists over 330 artworks by more than 120 urban artists coming from every corner of the planet, a recognition of the power of street art both for community building and for tourism. You can find the map in every Tourist Information Point (PIT) or you can download it from the city’s official tourism website.
