It is a Renaissance building attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, and erected by the will of Breton prelate Thomas Le Roy. Today, it hosts the Barracco Museum, which houses an im-portant collection of classical and Near East works, donated to the Municipality of Rome by Baron Giovanni Barracco in 1904.
