The magnificent church of St. Paul’s Within the Walls is home to a world class event combining music and dance. Three tenors will be joined by dancers in costume for a performance ranging from romantic opera arias to famous traditional Neapolitan songs. Torna a Surriento, O’ sole mio, Funiculì funiculà will be performed by the artists of Opera in Roma to choreographies by the Roman Academy of Dance and Music.
The beautiful Church of St. Paul’s Within the Walls was built in 1873, making it the first non-Catholic church built inside the walls of Rome. It was designed by the English architect, George Edmund Street, in the style of the Gothic Revival. The church features stunning mosaics by Edward Burne-Jones and George Breck, as well as stained glass by the English firm of Clayton and Bell. Due to its fine acoustics the church is frequently used for classical concerts.
