After the Journeys in Ancient Rome, in the Forum of Augustus and the Forum of Caesar, and Ara as It Used to Be in the Museum of the Ara Pacis, Circo Maximo Experience will enhance Roman ar-chaeological heritage by the means of immersive and multimedia experiences. Circo Maximo Experience is a cutting-edge project meant to revive in augmented reality and virtual reality one of the most significant places in the history of the city, the Circus Maximus, the largest show building of antiquity and one of the largest in all times, standing 600 mt long and 140 mt wide.

Thanks to special latest-generation viewers and stereophonic earphone systems, visitors can experience a unique and suggestive experience, fully immersing themselves in the history of the archaeological, reconstructed as far as both architecture and landscape are involved.

The tour is articulated into eight stages: the valley and the origins of the Circus; the Circus from Julius Caesar to Trajan; the Circus in the imperial age; the Cavea; the Arch of Titus; the shops (tab-ernae); the Circus in medieval and modern age, and “A day at the Circus”. The route can be expe-rienced at different timing, since the application is designed to work independently of the lighting variations. Italian voiceovers by Claudio Santamaria and Iaia Forte.

Touring route is also available in English, French, German, Spanish and Russian.

Fully accessible to physically disabled visitors.
